Brett that Bonnie sure reminds me of my old Arabian. No fear. She thrived on adventure and would get so excited when I hooked up the trailer and practically drag me on to it. I think that’s what Bonnie is, just likes to go see places. That balled up feeling is probably a well balanced critter in good self carriage, an athelete, using her whole body. When you get a horse or mule that moves like that, buddy you definitely hit the jackpot!

She has a very nice animated walk. Happy to be alive! My horse always had the same look when we went out in a new area in the metro park woods, she never exploded.

Beautiful mule and My favorite spot. Black Canyon. Many memories there. We were there in the spring shed hunting. Lots of country.

Thanks again for dragging me along on another fun adventure. Your videos are always a highlight in my mornings. I'm 65 and nursing a broken arm that enhances the 2 blown discs in my back. Needless to say I won't be able to make any adventures on my own. I thank you for doing what you do and sharing it. You will probably never realize how much enjoyment and relief your videos bring me. Great video! I remember going on pack trips in the mountains of West Virginia. We would stop by a small branch or creek and catch native Brook Trout. We would cook them and fried potatoes for lunch. We would then ride for about three hours and setup camp . For the people that has not experienced camping in the wild and riding mules to get there . Can not understand the draw to keep doing. The taste of camp food can not be duplicated by any 5 star chef. Thanks for taking me back in time. God bless and onwards and upward.

Hopefully the long mane would lay down. Your ride reminded me of the rides I used to take with my mare I called Old Crow. Not sure how old she was but nothing fazed her. If a dog would come at us we would chase it back into the yard. I did not pay much for her but she was a super safe horse.

I think the puppy name should be Aldo Leupold because that’s the first wilderness it’s been to.

If you want to make your coat or a brush popper melt 500grms of paraffin wax and add one pint of mineral oil. Iron the mixture onto what ever and it will shed water like a duck! Won't be stiff at all. Stays payable and not oily either. You'll want to do everything. You can make great tarps out of king size bed sheets too.

Thought an old poke like you would have a decent beaver felt Backup hat, that would turn rain better than your straw hat. Maby the trail rider gonna have to shop him a real hat!!! Real pretty country to ride in this time....Bonnie doing great and the puppy is really cute personality...gotta a brain...you should call him Elvis cause he's always singing and testing his limits..I really like Bonnie's forwardness.its not a real word but best way I can explain what I see...soft but agile and game. Great video, call your new pup "Lurch". Do you train your mules to be saddled from both the near and far side? Have had a number of horses that would not let me saddle them from the far side. I'm sure if I had taken the time I could have trained them to accept it, but never bothered.
